Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Course - Fall 2024

We have been talking for a while in various ways about the need for our discipleship to touch every area of our lives. We tend to be too comfortable with thinking that discipleship touches our spiritual lives or maybe our mental lives. We are less comfortable thinking about how our following Jesus should touch our physical lives or even our emotional lives. However, Jesus said that we are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength. That means our discipleship must be wholistic, touching every part of our being.

To help us grow in this area, we had a small group this past Spring that met to learn and discuss what it means to be healthy and free in our bodies. This fall, Pastor Scott is going to be facilitating an 8-week course titled Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. The author of this study, Pete Scazzero, believes that our emotional maturity (or immaturity) can be a limiting factor on our ability to mature in Christ. There comes a point where if we want to grow in Christ, we need to grow in our emotional health.

If you are interested in putting in the work to participate in this course or maybe just want some more information, you can reach out to Pastor Scott or fill out the form below by September 16.  The group will meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm, September 25 - November 13. Anyone is welcome to participate but, due to the nature of the course, we are asking participants to commit to attending most or all of the sessions and to complete the homework between sessions.
