Emotionally Healthy Relationships Course - Fall 2026
We have been talking for a while in various ways about the need for our discipleship to touch every area of our lives. We tend to be too comfortable with thinking that discipleship touches our spiritual lives or maybe our mental lives. We don't often think about how our discipleship should change the way we relate to the people around us. However, Jesus said that we are to love God with all our heart, soul, mind and strength AND to love our neighbors as ourselves. That means how we love others is integrally connected to how we love God.
To help us grow in this area, Pastor Scott will facilitate an 8-week course titled Emotionally Healthy Relationships this fall. This course is the second half of the Emotionally Healthy Discipleship Course. The first half is Emotionally Healthy Spirituality. The authors of this study, Pete & Geri Scazzero, believe that how we love others is integral to how we love God. Each of the eight sessions will teach a practical relationship skill intended to help you develop mature, loving relationships with others. This is key, because a world hungry for community is looking to see if the church does community any differently than what they see around them.
If you are interested in participating in this course or maybe just want some more information, you can reach out to Pastor Scott with your questions, mark it on your connect card when it is available, or fill out the form below by September 23. The group is scheduled to meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-8:30pm, October 7 - December 2, however, if there is interest in an alternative time (i.e. Thursday morning at 10am), that is possible too. Anyone is welcome to participate, even if you have not yet participated in Emotionally Healthy Spirituality.
