My name is Oscar Damminger and I've been attending FUMC Collingswood since spring of 2022. In my spare time I like to volunteer as an adult leader in our church's youth group, Lyfe. I live in Mount Royal, NJ, along with my wife, Jess, and two dogs. We are excited to announce that we are expecting our first child this October!

Missions and service have always been important to me, especially as a Christian where we're called to be the hands and feet of Jesus. It is so rewarding to be able to help others in need, and I'm honored to be doing so alongside my brothers and sisters in Christ!

This past Sunday (May 7) our 2023 Mexico Mission Team had the opportunity to host a Taco Lunch on Cinco de Mayo weekend to help raise funds for the work they will be doing in La Palmilla, Mexico this July. The team of 12 will be traveling July 15-25 to partner with the church in La Palmilla.

The Taco Lunch was not only an opportunity to raise financial support for the project, it was a chance for people to come meet the team and hear about the reason for the trip and the connection we have to the church in La Palmilla. One of the best things that happened through this lunch was the opportunity for the team to work together to put on the event and build a sense of teamwork together. Thanks for your continued prayers for the team!

This summer, our church is taking a mission team to La Palmilla, Mexico! Pastor Jeremy has helped lead teams down to build the Sanctuary at the local Methodist church. Though the sanctuary is finished there are some minor construction projects left to be done. Not only in La Palmilla, but also one of the one-room mission churches in a nearby village. We are excited to not only support a church in need, but to build relationships with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

La Palmilla is uniquely Methodist, with the Methodist church being the largest church in the village, in a country where 78% of the population is Catholic. Finances have been the main resource that has stunted the growth of the facilities for their congregation and mission churches. We are excited to partner with the congregation to continue building God’s kingdom.
