Worship Services suspended but available Online

Church Family,

What a week we have journeyed through as we watched simple warnings from afar come closer to home and now we are facing this challenge together with God’s help and grace. Coronavirus is becoming a world-shaping event. As we watched, the media shared closings of so many different entertainment events from the NBA to Disney and other huge events that is historic. All these changes will clearly affect every one of us as schools close, the economy struggles, and leaders at all levels wrestle with a responsible response. For updates, see World Health Org., U.S. Center for Disease Control, and N.J. Dept. of Health.

We want to let you know as a precautionary measure, after consulting with some leaders and staff, we have decided to temporarily suspend our worship services beginning this Sunday, March 15, 2020. This will include all services of the day, as well Discipleship, Sunday School, and Ryver. We can’t say for certain when services will resume, but we will revisit the question each week and update you when things change.

Instead, worship services, scriptural messages, devotionals, hymns and praise music will be available on our website.

Suspending our worship services was not an easy decision to make because we value meeting together. In light of the current challenges that we are all facing, and to protect our FUMC Church family, we believe it is the wisest thing to do at this time.

We are not a people of fear, but want to live as a people of faith taking our responsibilities seriously, loving God and others with grace as Kingdom people. We invite you to meditate on these words:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change, though the mountains shake in the heart of the sea.” Psalm 46:1-2

Please know we are still here to serve you; the office is open throughout the week.

In His Love and Grace,
Pastor Sam and Staff
